I just returned from bloom, an incredible dance party! My friend, Jason, and his girlfriend, Jen, ferried me an hour away, to a renovated abandoned building for this epic venture.

There were four rooms / two floors with individual sets of DJs! I spent a good deal of time running around, trying to experience them all.

I met a few of Jason’s friends at the venue. First was Steve, a super friendly fella who I saw a few more times roaming from room to room. We talked for a little bit. Then there was this RED HAIRED LADY (Madison). She had the coolest Alice in Wonderland tattoos all over, (and she liked the zebras on my dress)!

Jason had a knack befriending interesting people. Sometimes he would just dance with a random guy, and a song later, they would exchange numbers. Their dance was like a primal gesture that signaled friendship! I was super impressed! His gift was also how he got us invites to after parties.

The highlight of evening came from a lady dancing with a flow wand. I’d never seen a flow wand before, so I was enthralled. Her ethereal look, combined with the levitating stick, made her look suuuper pretty. She spotted me half-way across the dancefloor, grabbed my hand, and gave me a bracelet with shiny beads, stars, and the words: “always believe”!!!!! She then touched my head, and said something drowned out by the music. I imagined it was something like, “I like your hair” or “welcome to the secret society of awesome people”.

Bloom was such an good time. I hope we go on more of those fun expeditions.

For now, I’m off to bed.

It was afternoon when my roomies and I finally rolled out of our beds. Each of us, in the just-awake stupor, fumbled around the kitchen to break fast. We decided to concoct delicious rou bing (meat pancakes) from the leftover dumpling filling, and slump in couches for an unexpectedly intense movie.

It was a wonderful bonding moment, between us musketeers. We were three very different fellas, brought together by chance and happenstance. Aaron was an electric guitarist from out west, travelin’ with a super soft kitty. Jeff was a fierce mountain climber with a super sweet pet snake. I was a daydreamer, no pets yet.

Evenings around apartment filled with vibrations of guitar strings. Blues, jazz, metal, all kinds of music livened the place. Aroma of delicious home cooking also escaped to the streets. Both of my roomies were both excellent cooks.

Both of them also had excellent pets. I met Twist, Aaron’s shy kitty whom I got to befriend.

I also met Jess Snak E, Jeff's companion ball python. I remembered the first time I watched her eat, saw her unhinging her tiny jaw, struggling and wiggling around her food.

Alas, as the ebb and flow of time goes, they will be leaving elsewhere very shortly. Until that day comes, I hope to have just a few more lazy Sundays with them.

Yesterday kicked off with me riding a motorcycle for the time time!

I strapped on my helmet, climbed aboard my friend’s sexy motorcycle, and held on for dear life as we cruised oh-so-fast along the shorelines. Wind lashed against my face, sharply reminding me of the tremendous speed we travelled at, a sense dulled in shielded car rides. It was exhilarating!

Later that night, the city organized a dance party in the streets. The atmosphere was phenomenal. People packed the streets, and music blared from giant speakers.
My friends and I crowded around a bus stop and wiggled our bodies to the rhythm.
Oh Fridays, you are always such good times.

I have what my friends call “agrarian fantasies”.
I daydream about what’s it like to live in the good olde days, out by some country side.

I’d be pickling beautiful jars of vegetables, in a cozy farm house.
In the summer, I’d lay in the field of wild grass, surrounded by fireflies.
I love these romantic reveries.

I also have not-so-agregrian fantasies, such as becoming a subway musician.
Something about strumming some beautiful chord in a noisy city station appeals to me.
Subway cars’ll unload busy crowds rushing towards to their lives.
Somewhere, an ear’ll pick up the sweet sound of music and pause for an ever-so slight second.
At that moment, a secret gift has been exchanged.

To revel in my fantasy, I’m picking up guitar!
I’m in no way musically gifted.
As long as I keep a good attitude about it, I’ll be playing in subway stations in no time.
See you at the next stop!

In other news, my big Sleep No More project is coming alone nicely. Supplies are on their way!
